The Labasa community is ready to welcome the festive season tonight with the illumination of the Northern Division’s largest Christmas tree. This momentous occasion not only marks the beginning of the holiday celebrations but also symbolizes unity among the area’s diverse communities.
The Colgate Christmas Tree Lighting, organized in collaboration with Damodar Labasa, is in its final preparations for what promises to be a spectacular event. Adrian Romanin, General Manager for Colgate-Palmolive Fiji & the Pacific, emphasized that this event is more than just lighting a tree. It serves as a valuable opportunity for connection and creating lasting memories within the community.
“Christmas is just another one of those opportunities for us to give back to the community. During the festive season, it’s all about connection and positivity—and behind all of that is the smile. So, it’s a very natural fit, but the main thing is bringing everyone together and celebrating a fantastic year,” Romanin stated.
Attendees can expect a delightful evening of live entertainment, Christmas carols, choir performances, generous giveaways, and even a unique Fiji-style snow experience for families to enjoy.
The festivities will kick off at 4 PM in front of the Damodar Cinema in Labasa. The organizers invite the public to partake in this evening of love, joy, and community spirit. This event is set to strengthen bonds among residents, highlighting the importance of community unity and joyful celebrations during this bustling time of year.
