DALLAS — Kyrie Irving is making progress in his recovery from ACL surgery, though a definitive return timeline remains uncertain. The Dallas Mavericks star is anticipated to be back on the court in early 2026. Head coach Jason Kidd provided an update on Irving’s rehabilitation ahead of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, emphasizing that while there is no established schedule for his return, Irving is maintaining a positive attitude.

“He’s still doing the things he’s supposed to… His spirits, he’s in a good place,” Kidd informed reporters. “He’s rehabbing… That’s the only update I can really give you; he’s in a good place and he’s doing everything he’s supposed to.”

Although Irving’s absence poses a challenge, the Mavericks are determined to remain competitive. Currently sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference, they are set to face off against the top-seeded Pistons. The Mavericks are hopeful for a strong showing despite the odds being against them.

In a stroke of good fortune, Anthony Davis will be active for the game after being listed as questionable due to a left calf contusion. D’Angelo Russell, Brandon Williams, and Naji Marshall are also confirmed to play, providing the team with additional depth.

The game is set to tip off at 8:30 PM EST, and while the Mavericks navigate Irving’s recovery, fans are eager for updates on his condition as he works toward a comeback.
