Kristen Bell has been cast to voice the character Amy Rose in the highly anticipated “Sonic the Hedgehog 4,” set to be released by Paramount on March 19, 2027. This exciting announcement was shared by Ben Schwartz, who plays Sonic, on his Instagram account, expressing his enthusiasm for welcoming Bell to the “Sonic” franchise.

The fourth film follows the successful “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” which recently became the highest-grossing in the series, amassing over $490 million globally. The franchise as a whole has achieved impressive box office receipts, surpassing $1 billion, testament to its growing popularity among audiences of all ages.

“Sonic 3” featured a mid-credits scene that hinted at the arrival of new characters, fueling anticipation for the next installment. Although specifics about the plot of “Sonic 4” remain undisclosed, the franchise’s established track record and the involvement of returning director Jeff Fowler—who helmed the previous films—promise an engaging continuation of the beloved video game series.

Producers Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara will work alongside Fowler to bring this latest adventure to life. Reflecting on his teamwork with recurring collaborators, Fowler previously emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving their cinematic goals.

Kristen Bell’s recent projects include her role in the Amazon Prime comedy “The People We Hate at the Wedding” and her appearance in Netflix’s “The Woman in the House.” She is also set to reprise her character ‘Joanne’ in the third season of “Nobody Wants This” and will portray ‘Mrs. Claus’ in the upcoming Universal Pictures holiday film, “Violent Night 2.”

As Bell joins the franchise, fans of the “Sonic” series are hopeful for a new chapter that not only continues the thrilling adventures of their favorite characters but also expands the universe with great talent behind the scenes.
