The Kaunikuila Basketball Club made a noteworthy impression during their recent tour in New Caledonia, where they showcased their skills against local teams in the annual tournament organized by the Olympic De Nouméa Basketball Club. The tournament saw the participation of competitive teams and provided an excellent platform for the Kaunikuila club to demonstrate their talent.

Ben Nasau, president of the Kaunikuila Basketball Club, shared that the girls’ team achieved an impressive third place in the 5×5 competition and secured second place in the 3×3 format. Similarly, the boys’ team showcased their abilities, finishing as runners-up in both events.

He emphasized the critical role of international exposure for players, noting that such experiences enhance confidence, character, and the belief in their capability to compete at elevated levels.

Upon returning home last week with trophies and commendations, the Kaunikuila Basketball Club also gained invaluable experience that promises to positively influence their future endeavors in the sport. This successful tour is a promising step towards advancing basketball in the region and supporting the aspirations of young athletes.
