Joy Taylor recently opened up about her dating experiences and some of the humorous yet odd moments she encountered, particularly during a recent episode of her “Too Personal” podcast. Taylor recounted a relationship with a man she met on the dating app Raya, highlighting an unusual habit that ultimately turned her off. The former Fox Sports journalist shared that the man, who was quite nice overall, insisted on wearing his calorie-counting watch during intimate moments.
“I met a Black man on Raya. We dated for like four months,” she revealed, adding, “This little tracker thing that tracks your calories. He kept it on during sex.” Taylor found this practice to be unappealing, stating, “So I couldn’t do it. I’m not a big ick person but I was like, ‘I ain’t doing this sh*t on during sex.’”
In addition to her dating anecdotes, Taylor’s name has been in the headlines due to a serious sexual assault and discrimination lawsuit that involved her, Skip Bayless, and Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon. The lawsuit was brought by a former hairstylist, Noushin Faraji, who alleged that Taylor insulted her and that Bayless made inappropriate offers. Both Taylor and Dixon have vigorously denied the allegations, which has led to significant professional repercussions, including the cancellation of Taylor’s show, “Speak,” and the non-renewal of her contract with Fox Sports.
In June 2025, Taylor spoke candidly about her feelings in relation to the lawsuit during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” describing her experiences as a process of grief and trauma. “I’ve been through a lot of traumatic things in my life. A lot. And I think any time you go through a trauma or a grieving period, you can’t decide who you are when it’s happening. And that’s been the biggest thing for me,” she shared.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Taylor continues to find ways to move forward, sharing both light-hearted and serious reflections on life, dating, and personal growth.
