In recent years, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has consistently astounded basketball fans with his extraordinary performance, prompting the question: can one become numb to greatness? Since the start of the decade, Jokic has been a frequent triple-double threat, firmly establishing himself in the MVP conversation and leading the Nuggets in their quest for a championship.
Each week, it seems Jokic sets new records reminiscent of milestones last achieved by legends such as Wilt Chamberlain. His remarkable skills have made every triple-double feel like just another day at the office as the Nuggets aim for another title with him at the helm.
While many fans in Nuggets Nation may have grown accustomed to his remarkable feats, the rest of the NBA continues to recognize his historic contributions. For the second consecutive week, Jokic earned the title of Western Conference Player of the Week following an extraordinary series of performances.
During Week 4 of the 2025-26 NBA season (Nov. 10-16), both Jokic and Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson received honors for their impressive play. Though this week could be seen as a slight downturn for Jokic, as he didn’t average a triple-double, he still managed to score an impressive nearly 40 points per game, highlighted by a record-setting 55-point outing against the Clippers. The Nuggets achieved a perfect 3-0 record during a brief road trip, aided by Jokic’s gameplay against the Sacramento Kings and a significant win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Additionally, Jokic posted a remarkable triple-double of 36 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists in a tough loss to the Chicago Bulls, showcasing his ability to put up elite numbers even in defeat. Although he faced criticism for his shooting that game—13-of-27 from the field and 1-of-7 from three—his stats remain on par with the likes of Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
This recognition marks the 19th time Jokic has been nominated for the Player of the Week award. With half of November still ahead, it seems likely he will contend for the Player of the Month Award if he maintains his current level of play. Jokic’s ongoing excellence continues to inspire admiration and respect across the league, reminding everyone of the beauty of basketball at its highest level.
