The spirit of Christmas was alive and well at Jittu Estate, where residents, particularly the youth and children, united for the much-anticipated Jittu Vuvale Fun Day. This vibrant celebration showcased community camaraderie as families came together to partake in various activities designed for all ages.
Earlier this year, the multipurpose court at Lagilagi Housing was inaugurated, quickly becoming an essential sporting hub for residents. Richard Dyer, the coordinator for Inspire Pacific, shared his excitement about the event, which featured a range of activities from a bouncy castle and engaging games for children to family competitions and an exhilarating volleyball tournament with about 20 teams, predominantly from Jittu Estate.
Dyer highlighted the purpose of Inspire Pacific’s involvement in the community, emphasizing their focus on supporting local youth facing challenges such as homelessness and loitering. “Today is all about fun day, it’s a Jittu Vuvale Community fun day, where we have 16 teams competing across various age groups,” Dyer stated. He expressed pride in the community’s participation and the positive environment fostered by such events.
The day not only served as an opportunity for fun but also aimed to strengthen community ties, bringing families together to enjoy a joyful atmosphere. Dyer noted, “We’re really trying to utilize the court for more competitions and fun days, and today is a testament to that vision.” He extended his heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and participants who made the occasion a memorable and uplifting experience.
The success of the Jittu Vuvale Fun Day serves as a reminder of the power of community in fostering goodwill and encouraging youth engagement, bringing hope and positivity to the lives of residents in Jittu Estate.
