Jesse Ware is set to perform an undisclosed song from one of her favorite films during the In Memoriam section of the upcoming BAFTA Awards ceremony. This poignant moment will pay tribute to the artists and legends who have passed away over the past year.

Ware expressed her excitement, stating, “It is a great honour to be performing at the Baftas in such an important and special moment to remember people and legends that have passed this year. I’m singing a song from one of my favourite movies by one of my favourite artists and really cannot wait to be on stage in amongst a room of such talented individuals.”

This year’s BAFTA Awards promise to be a spectacular celebration of cinema, touted as the biggest night for the film industry in the UK. Alongside Ware, the ceremony will feature performances from the cast of the hit film “KPop Demon Hunters,” marking their first live performance together outside of the United States.

Hosted by actor Alan Cumming, the event will spotlight the critically acclaimed film “Hamnet,” which leads the nominations with a record-breaking 11 nods for a female-directed film. Directed by Chloe Zhao, “Hamnet” has earned accolades for performances by Jessie Buckley, nominated for Best Actress, and Paul Mescal, nominated for Best Supporting Actor. It is also competing for Best Film and Outstanding British Film.

Jesse Ware, a British-born artist, will perform just before the release of her sixth studio album, “Superbloom,” slated for April release. The album includes her latest single, “I Could Get Used To This.”

BAFTA’s executive director of awards and content, Emma Baehr, stated, “We are honoured to welcome Jesse Ware and her extraordinary talent to the EE Bafta Film Awards next weekend. Her beautiful, moving performance will offer a special moment for audiences both in the room and at home, as we pay tribute to those in the industry we have sadly lost.”

The BAFTA Awards will take place at the Royal Festival Hall in London’s Southbank Centre, with the event set to be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday, February 22. This year’s ceremony not only aims to celebrate outstanding cinematic achievements but also serves as a heartfelt remembrance of the artists who have shaped the industry.
