WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently shared his insights on GUNTHER during his appearance on TMZ Inside The Ring, offering high praise for the talented wrestler’s current trajectory in the company. JBL expressed admiration for GUNTHER’s ability to maintain significant crowd heat while delivering outstanding in-ring performances.

“He’s awesome, absolutely awesome. Everything about him. I think he’s fantastic. Very few guys can carry the heat that he’s got. He can carry it,” JBL stated, highlighting his long-standing appreciation for GUNTHER since his debut in WWE. He noted GUNTHER’s impressive transformation and mastery of the wrestling business, stating, “He knows how to get heat, he knows how to do interviews. I think he’s absolutely fantastic with it.”

The wrestling veteran also elaborated on the creative dynamics surrounding a performer of GUNTHER’s caliber. He made a clear distinction between a “pure heel” and an “attraction heel,” citing notable examples such as Roman Reigns and groups like the NWO and DX. JBL indicated that GUNTHER’s physical prowess and relentless success in major matches could lead him to evolve into a figure fans perceive as a must-see attraction instead of a conventional villain.

Reflecting on his own experiences as a heel, JBL recounted a pivotal moment from his rivalry with The Undertaker. He remembered turning down an opportunity to secure a clean victory over the “Deadman” at SummerSlam, reasoning that it would undermine his heel status. This anecdote illustrated his belief that heels should win through cunning tactics to preserve their villainous persona, contrary to attaining clean victories that could elevate them to babyface status.

JBL emphasized the importance of distinguishing between different types of heels: “You look at a guy like Roman Reigns. He’s an attraction heel. He’s not a pure heel. And there’s a difference.” He expressed confidence that GUNTHER would transition towards becoming more of an attraction, suggesting that his talent and rising profile would make it challenging to keep him strictly as a pure heel. “Just make him an attraction. Make it when he walks out, everybody stands up. I think Gunther can be that guy. I think Gunther is that good,” JBL concluded.

As GUNTHER continues to develop his character and presence in WWE, fans can anticipate witness his potential growth in the wrestling landscape, paving the way for an exciting future.
