Jaylen Brown is currently enjoying one of the most remarkable scoring streaks in Boston Celtics history. The four-time All-Star and recent 2024 NBA Finals MVP has now tallied 30 points in nine consecutive games, a milestone that has been achieved only once before in the franchise’s long and distinguished history.

In a standout performance against the Indiana Pacers last Friday, Brown showcased his scoring prowess by netting 30 points on an impressive 13-for-20 shooting, contributing to the Celtics’ decisive 140-122 win. Just two days later, in a competitive matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, he further raised the bar with 37 points on 14-for-23 shooting, albeit in a 114-108 loss.

This remarkable streak aligns him with Hall of Famer Larry Bird, who also scored 30 points in nine consecutive games during the 1985 season. Brown now aims to surpass Bird’s achievement when the Celtics face off against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. This season, only one player has managed a longer streak: Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić, who scored 30 points in nine straight games from November 15 to December 12.

The Celtics have experienced considerable success during Brown’s scoring run, recording six wins against three losses. He kicked off this notable streak with a season-high 42 points in a 123-117 victory over the New York Knicks on December 12. Over the course of these nine games, Brown has reached the 30-point mark five times, maintaining an impressive shooting percentage of 50.1% on 316 attempts.

Interestingly, despite his scoring success, Brown has not exceeded three 3-pointers in any game during this streak. His last game below the 30-point threshold was on November 30, but he made a strong showing in the three games leading up to that date, scoring 41, 33, and 35 points respectively. Brown’s performance continues to raise hopes for the Celtics as they look to build on this momentum in the upcoming games.
