Jack White to headline Thanksgiving halftime in Detroit during Packers-Lions clash

Halftime shows have become a beloved tradition at NFL games, especially during Thanksgiving. This year, Ford Field in Detroit will host an exciting performance by the city’s own Jack White during the highly anticipated matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.

Jack White, a prominent figure in the music industry and co-founder of the iconic rock duo The White Stripes, is set to electrify the crowd. The White Stripes, known for hits like “Seven Nation Army,” recently achieved a significant milestone by being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this month.

A Detroit native, the 50-year-old White formed The White Stripes in 1997 with then-wife Meg White. Over their career, they released six studio albums from 1999 to 2007, two of which achieved platinum status. The duo garnered critical acclaim, winning six Grammy Awards for categories including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song, showcasing their impact on the music scene.

In addition to his work with The White Stripes, White has pursued a successful solo career, collaborated with the band The Raconteurs, produced various artists, and operates a record label in Nashville. To his credit, he has amassed a total of 12 Grammy Awards throughout his career, solidifying his status as a versatile and influential musician.

Supporting the halftime show’s local flavor, Eminem, another Detroit native, is playing a key role as one of the executive producers. He collaborated with his producer Paul Rosenberg and the Lions to select talent for this year’s show and will continue to lend his expertise for Thanksgiving halftime shows over the next two years.

The national anthem at the Packers-Lions game will be sung by renowned gospel singer CeCe Winans, adding another layer of local talent to the event.

In addition to White’s performance, fans can look forward to other Thanksgiving halftime shows, including Post Malone at the Kansas City Chiefs-Dallas Cowboys game and Lil Jon at the Cincinnati Bengals-Baltimore Ravens game later in the evening.

As excitement builds for Thanksgiving Day football, the halftime shows promise to celebrate not only the sport but also the remarkable talent from Detroit and beyond.
