Inter Miami CF is set to continue their Champions Tour this Saturday with a preseason friendly against Atlético Nacional, a prominent team in Colombia’s top league. This match is part of the team’s preparations for their highly anticipated Major League Soccer (MLS) opener against LAFC, featuring Son Heung-Min, on February 21 at the iconic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, slated for 9:30 PM ET on Apple TV.
Following the clash with Atlético Nacional, Inter Miami will face two additional matches: they will take on Ecuadorian club Barcelona SC on February 7, and then compete against the reigning Ecuadorian champions, Independiente del Valle, on February 13 in Puerto Rico. These fixtures are pivotal as they form a crucial part of the team’s preparations leading up to the 2026 MLS season.
This Saturday’s game marks the second of three preseason challenges for the reigning MLS Cup champions, who won the title last season. In their opening match of the preseason tour, Inter Miami faced a tough opponent in Alianza Lima from Peru, suffering a 3-0 defeat. This was their first match since securing the MLS Cup on December 6. Although the result was disappointing, several new signings had the opportunity to make their debuts, including Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair and defenders Facundo Mura and Sergio Reguilón. Unfortunately, Reguilón had to leave the match with a knee sprain, leaving fans hopeful for his swift recovery.
As Miami prepares to defend their title in the upcoming season, they have remained active in the transfer window, bolstering their squad with new talent. The team’s current preseason matches are not only essential for building cohesion among players but also crucial for setting the tone for what they hope will be another successful campaign in 2026.
