Inter-Hotel Tournament Sparks Charity and Community Spirit

The recent Inter-Hotel Tournament successfully gathered tourism professionals from various sectors for two days of friendly competition while focusing on meaningful community support. According to the tournament’s events director, Percy Bechu, this year’s event aimed to achieve three primary goals: supporting the Loloma Home, the Christian Leukemia Foundation, and the Narewa Methodist Church.

Bechu expressed the importance of bringing this event to fruition, stating, “To be able to put this event together and see everything come to life means a great deal.” The tournament not only showcased sportsmanship but also strengthened the camaraderie and trust among hotels and tourism workers. This spirit of unity was evident both on and off the field.

Anne Pesamino, a representative of the Pesamino Foundation, voiced appreciation for the event’s philanthropic outlook, noting their blessing in being one of this year’s beneficiaries.

The tournament wrapped up with an action-packed schedule featuring three sports: rugby 7s, netball, and volleyball, with an impressive turn-out of 86 teams competing for the coveted top honors.

Events like the Inter-Hotel Tournament highlight the positive impact that community-focused activities can have, fostering bonds among participants while also raising awareness and funds for vital local causes. Such initiatives not only advance athletic competition but also contribute to the welfare of the community, showcasing the inherent value in teamwork and collaboration. With continued support from various stakeholders, this tournament sets a hopeful precedent for future events that prioritize both sport and community engagement.
