Sarvesh Suri has been appointed as the Regional Vice President for Asia and the Pacific at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a pivotal position that enables him to lead investment and advisory initiatives across the region. Operating out of Singapore, Suri boasts 25 years of extensive global investment and development expertise, marked by a proven track record in fostering public-private partnerships.

In his new role, Suri is expected to mobilize the private sector to confront complex development challenges and create employment opportunities. He will oversee IFC’s operations from India to the Pacific, leading a dedicated team to provide transformative solutions across various sectors, including finance, manufacturing, agribusiness, services, and infrastructure.

To bolster Suri’s leadership, the IFC has also appointed two new Division Directors: Keiko Miwa, who is set to manage South West Asia and the Pacific Islands from Jakarta, Indonesia, and Arnaud Dupoizat, who will lead East Asia from Hong Kong starting February 1, 2026.

Prior to this new position, Suri served as the IFC’s Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure and Natural Resources in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over his 15-year tenure at the organization, he has held various leadership roles, including overseeing operations in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Papua New Guinea from Jakarta.

Suri recognizes the critical challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing the shared aspiration for gainful employment among its people. “What unites people across the region is that they all want the dignity of a job — livelihoods to support themselves and their families,” he remarked. He has committed to harnessing IFC’s strengths in private sector solutions to enhance job creation. This involves mobilizing private capital, strengthening local capital markets, and supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises, which are essential for economic growth and job opportunities.

An Indian national, Suri graduated with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University. His leadership is anticipated to energize efforts to meet the pressing developmental needs of the region while fostering sustainable livelihoods for its citizens.
