Acting Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga has called for heightened community responsibility and vigilance as the festive season approaches. He stresses that maintaining law and order is a collective effort that goes beyond law enforcement, urging individuals and communities to work together to create a safe and pleasant environment during holiday celebrations.

Lutunauga encourages families and neighborhoods to unite in ensuring safety throughout the festive period. He reassures the public of an active police presence in public spaces, ready to manage any incidents that may occur. “My Christmas message is to please be responsible — be responsible at all levels of society,” he emphasized, particularly noting that while nightclubs may operate only until 1 am, many revelers often continue their festivities at private gatherings afterward.

The Commissioner voiced concerns over a rise in altercations and disruptive behavior in towns, making the need for community engagement more urgent. He pledged that police resources will be allocated to major urban areas to monitor these occurrences effectively.

Lutunauga also advised minors to stay at home and engage in educational activities that contribute to their future prospects, highlighting the importance of responsible behavior among youth during this festive season.

With a focus on unity and awareness, Lutunauga’s message is clear: everyone has a role to play in ensuring a safe and joyous holiday season for all.
