Grapevine Turns Historic Main Street Car-Free for Christmas Celebrations

The city of Grapevine, renowned as the “Christmas Capital of Texas,” is set to close its Historic Main Street to vehicles on weekends throughout December, ensuring that residents and visitors can fully immerse themselves in the holiday spirit. This initiative aims to enhance access to the myriad festive events scheduled for this month.

The holiday activities kicked off on November 3 with the popular Carol of Lights and will continue with a series of exciting events, including the Parade of Lights and the Merry and Bright Christmas Drone Show. According to the city’s event page, these activities are designed to celebrate the joy of the season and attract families and tourists alike.

To facilitate the ongoing festivities, which will include opportunities for photos with Santa and various holiday tours, Main Street will be closed to vehicles not just on weekends but also on selected weekdays, starting with December 1. This closure allows for a safer and more festive atmosphere, enabling attendees to revel in the sights and sounds of the holidays without the interference of traffic.

With Grapevine’s Main Street transformed into a bustling center of Christmas cheer, residents and guests are encouraged to partake in the season’s celebrations, creating cherished memories with friends and family in a magical setting.
