Jim Norris, the head coach of Grafton High School’s football team, has received the esteemed title of WFCA/Packers High School Coach of the Year. This accolade comes after Norris successfully guided the Black Hawks to an impressive perfect season of 14-0, culminating in a thrilling 17-15 victory in the WIAA Division 3 State Championship. His leadership style emphasizes a culture of hard work, dedication, and a winning mentality, which has been instrumental in the team’s remarkable achievements.
Since taking the reins as head coach in 2018, Norris has focused on instilling a strong program culture that valorizes attitude and effort among players. Under his guidance, Grafton’s football program has expanded significantly, boasting 94 players, with 65 of them participating at the varsity level. Norris attributes the team’s success not only to his coaching philosophy but also to the relentless commitment displayed by both his coaching staff and the players.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Norris will be honored at the WFCA All-State Banquet at Lambeau Field. The event will also feature the Green Bay Packers donating $2,000 to support the Grafton football program, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to fostering high school athletics.
