A false notice claiming that all civil servants would not be required to work today has been circulating online but has been firmly refuted by the government. The Ministry of Civil Service issued a statement clarifying that the message is a deliberate attempt at disinformation aimed at misleading the public and undermining official communications.

As per the Ministry, all civil servants are to resume their duties today, with specific operational arrangements established. In the Western Division, only essential services will be in operation, while civil servants in the Northern, Eastern, and Central Divisions are expected to report for work as usual. Permanent Secretaries have been instructed to ensure that employees are informed of these arrangements and that essential services in the Western Division function effectively.

In related news, schools throughout the country have been closed today due to heavy rain and flooding. Education Minister Aseri Radrodro stated that this decision was made in conjunction with the National Disaster Risk Management Office after assessing reports from District Education Offices.

While the government calls for civil servants to adhere to their duties, the closure of schools highlights the need for safety measures amid adverse weather conditions. This situation underscores the importance of clear communication and the role of the government in ensuring public safety while maintaining essential services.
