UPDATE: Authorities in Wisconsin have reported that Gabriella Cartagena has been found. The police announced, “Gabriella Cartagena has been located. More information will be released as soon as possible. We would like to thank the entire community for the help we have received.”
The search for the 24-year-old woman had been ongoing for six days after she was reported missing. Cartagena was last seen in distress on February 4 at Red Arrow Park in Marinette, Wisconsin, located near the Michigan border. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black robe, black joggers with a logo on her hip, and tan slipper-like shoes.
Her vehicle, a red Toyota Prius with Wisconsin license plates, was spotted traveling between 9:25 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on the same day, along Highway 41 in both Menominee City and Menominee Township in Michigan. In light of her disappearance, law enforcement urged local residents and businesses to check their surveillance cameras for any sightings of the vehicle.
Throughout the search, various agencies collaborated, including the Marinette Police Department, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Menominee Police Department, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office, and Wright County Sheriff’s Office from Minnesota. The Marinette Fire Department, Grover/Porterfield Fire Department, and several auxiliary units also participated in search efforts alongside No One Left Behind K-9 Search and Rescue.
