Fresh’et Super Butcher has taken a significant step in enhancing its market presence with the opening of its sixth outlet at the newly inaugurated Nasinu Market in Laqere. Managing Director Richard Chow emphasized that this new location is strategically aimed at serving families situated along the busy Nasinu–Nausori corridor, particularly catering to middle and lower-income households in need of reliable access to fresh meat and fish.
Last year, discussions with the Nasinu Town Council revealed a pressing demand for a butcher in the new market, paving the way for this expansion. The new branch is designed to serve not only the Nasinu community but also nearby residents of Laucala Beach and those traveling along the Kings Highway.
To effectively meet the expected demand, Fresh’et is committed to sourcing its products both from local suppliers and international markets, which includes importing pork, lamb, poultry, and fish. This approach ensures a consistent supply and aims to alleviate local shortages throughout the year. Chow articulated a hope that the Fijian government would explore options for importing goods from other countries to provide the public with more cost-effective choices.
Felix Magnus, the CEO and Chair of the Nasinu Town Council, expressed optimism that the new butcher will increase foot traffic, especially on weekends, thereby enhancing sales opportunities for other vendors at the market. He emphasized that the expansion was informed by feasibility studies that sought to address community necessities, with an expectation that an increase in shoppers will benefit the wider Laqere market.
The opening of this outlet marks a notable advancement for local families in their quest for quality food options and serves to strengthen community bonds while fostering economic growth in the area. This initiative not only reflects Fresh’et Super Butcher’s commitment to serving its community but also cultivates a thriving local economy.
