A woman along with three men has been charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping involving a 20-year-old woman in Lautoka. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on the morning of February 25, 2026, when the accused reportedly forcefully removed the victim from her home in Saweni after an argument.

According to police reports, the primary accused, a 25-year-old woman from Saweni, is alleged to have forced the victim into her vehicle. During the chaotic scene, three accomplices allegedly assaulted a relative of the victim who attempted to intervene. In a desperate bid to escape, the victim jumped from the moving vehicle and sustained injuries.

The 25-year-old woman faces multiple charges, including one count of kidnapping, one count of damaging property, and one count of an act intended to cause grievous harm. Her three accomplices, aged 44, 28, and 24, also from Saweni, have been charged with kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.

All four individuals are set to appear at the Lautoka Magistrates Court on March 2, 2026. This case highlights the serious nature of assaults within the community and the legal steps being taken to address such incidents.
