Rewa Rugby Union’s commitment to grassroots development has been recognized with a substantial sponsorship agreement from Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) for the upcoming rugby season. The partnership, finalized at FMF’s headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva, highlights FMF’s dedication to community support through a collaboration that aligns with the brand’s resilient values.

Maria Kumar, the Group Marketing Manager, noted the dedication shown by the Rewa Rugby Union in their proposal, stating, “Looking at their proposal, something that really touched us was that without a sponsorship, they made every effort. The team and the union ensured that the players did not give up.” This sentiment underscores the importance of perseverance and community engagement.

This sponsorship marks a significant achievement in the over 30-year history of the Rewa Rugby Union, covering all levels of its operations, including the club competition, U20s, senior women’s, and senior men’s teams, as they prepare for the upcoming Vanua Championship.

Ro Macanawai Mataitini, President of the club, expressed deep appreciation for the partnership, highlighting its potential impact: “This partnership will directly strengthen our programs, support our players and coaches, and help us grow the game in the right way.” As the Rewa Rugby season approaches, set to kick off on March 21 with the FMF Rewa 10s tournament, excitement builds within the community for what lies ahead.

The collaboration serves as a monumental step in promoting the growth of rugby in the region, showcasing the vital role community support plays in sports development. As Rewa Rugby Union begins this new journey, it represents hope and progress not just for the players and fans but for the entire rugby community.
