ORLANDO, Fla. – The warm weather trend will continue into the latter half of the weekend, with temperatures expected to soar into the lower to mid-80s, creating a perfect atmosphere for poolside and beach activities.

As Sunday transitions into night, a cold front accompanied by winter weather will approach, potentially bringing severe weather to the Panhandle. Residents are urged to stay alert for watches and warnings as gusty winds and isolated tornadoes may develop within the strongest storms.

Throughout Sunday night, temperatures will remain mild, ranging from the mid to upper 60s, though most of the evening should remain dry. However, pre-dawn on Monday, the cold front is predicted to ignite with a line of gusty showers rolling through Central Florida.

Looking ahead to Monday, the cold front will continue to drive southeast, ushering in windy and showery conditions early in the day. By afternoon, drier and cooler air will begin to seep in from the north, with highs dropping significantly to the upper 60s and lower 70s.

As we move into Monday night and Tuesday, Florida will experience a marked chill, with forecasts predicting temperatures well below seasonal averages. This dip in the jetstream is set to affect the eastern third of the nation, leading to high temperatures remaining around 10 degrees below normal or even cooler. Overnight lows on Tuesday and Wednesday nights could plummet into the upper 20s and lower 30s, prompting an extended Storm Team Alert into Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Residents are advised to keep warm clothing handy as high temperatures from Wednesday through Friday are projected to linger in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Additionally, weather patterns suggest that another storm system may approach late Friday into Saturday, raising concerns for rain and potential snow in the Panhandle.

As the week unfolds, staying informed and prepared for changing weather conditions is essential. The coming days will offer a stark contrast from the warm weekend, showcasing Florida’s unpredictable climate.
