Parents and guardians who have not yet received the $200 back-to-school assistance are encouraged to resolve any discrepancies in their application forms to facilitate the disbursement of funds. Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel underscored the necessity of providing accurate information, as payments will only be processed following a comprehensive verification of the submitted details.

During a recent statement in Nadi, Mr. Immanuel announced that the Ministry of Education has established a dedicated team and set up a booth to assist parents with inquiries regarding the cash assistance program. “We are here to help clarify and resolve any issues,” he remarked, while acknowledging that some applications contained discrepancies.

Once parents address these discrepancies, the Ministry of Education will compile a verified list to be sent to the Ministry of Finance for the release of funds. Mr. Immanuel noted that many challenges arise from incorrect or outdated information on the application forms, particularly telephone numbers. He emphasized the collective responsibility of both parents and teachers to ensure that all details are accurately completed.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to providing essential financial support to families during the back-to-school season. With the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Education and proactive engagement from parents, there is optimism that the verification process will lead to a seamless distribution of funds, ultimately aiding students as they embark on a new school year.
