Tevita Rokovereni was honored as the Male Referee of the Year at the Fiji Rugby Referees Awards, which took place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva last night. The Tailevu native has made significant strides on the international rugby scene, showcasing his skills and dedication.

Earlier this year, Rokovereni achieved a historic milestone at the Vancouver 7s when he officiated the men’s cup final, where Argentina faced South Africa. With this achievement, he became the first Fijian referee to lead a cup final in the World Rugby Sevens Series since 2009, when James Bolabiu officiated at the Hong Kong 7s.

Rokovereni’s journey in officiating began with his international debut at the Pacific Mini Games in 2013. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive résumé by officiating various matches on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. His recent accolades underscore his growing prominence in the sport and inspire aspiring referees in Fiji and beyond.
