The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team finished in sixth place at the Vancouver leg of the HSBC SVNS Series, facing a tough defeat against Canada with a score of 26–19 in the fifth-place playoff at BC Place.

Canada showcased their strength right from the start, getting on the scoreboard early and establishing a significant lead by halftime. Despite this, the Fijiana displayed resilience and fought back vigorously in the second half, scoring three tries that raised hopes for a comeback. Atelaite Ralivanawa initiated Fiji’s scoring before both Mariana Talatoka and Adi Vani Buleki added their names to the scoresheet. Conversions from Ana Maria Naimasi and Kelerayani Luvu further energized the team’s efforts to narrow the deficit.

As the match neared its conclusion, Fiji made a strong attempt to seize momentum, but Canada ultimately managed to maintain their lead and secure the victory. This result places Fiji in sixth place overall in the tournament, but their spirited second-half performance reflects the team’s potential and determination to improve in future competitions. The experience gained from such challenging matches will undoubtedly serve as motivation for the Fijiana as they look ahead to upcoming events in the series.
