Fijian Elections Office appoints Anaseini Senimoli Acting Deputy Supervisor to Lead Elections

The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has announced the appointment of Anaseini Senimoli as the Acting Deputy Supervisor of Elections, effective November 14, 2025. This decision, made by Supervisor of Elections Ms. Ana Mataiciwa, highlights Senimoli’s extensive dedication to enhancing Fiji’s electoral processes over the years.

With a decade of experience as the FEO’s Director of Operations, Senimoli has been instrumental in managing key aspects of the 2018 and 2022 General Elections. Her promotion to Acting Deputy Supervisor is a clear indication of the FEO’s commitment to strengthening its leadership ahead of upcoming electoral events.

Ms. Mataiciwa praised Senimoli for her professionalism and operational expertise, expressing her confidence in Senimoli’s ability to guide the FEO’s strategic direction. This recognition underscores the importance of capable leadership in fostering trust and efficiency in electoral management.

Senimoli’s background is both extensive and well-rooted in the local community, as she has worked under five previous Acting Deputy Supervisors. Originating from Drue village in Sanima, Kadavu, and with familial connections to Votua village in Lekutu, Bua, she brings a profound understanding of the electoral landscape and the communities she serves.

Senimoli steps into this critical role while the FEO navigates challenges such as staffing shortages that have raised concerns about operational efficiency and governance. Recent discussions have emphasized the importance of fully staffing key positions to ensure a smooth electoral process. The FEO is actively addressing these staffing issues and is taking proactive measures to fill vacancies and boost operational capacity.

In addition, the FEO is modernizing its operations through digital upgrades aimed at enhancing data integrity and transparency. These advancements are vital as the nation prepares for future electoral cycles, ensuring that citizens can participate in the democratic process with confidence.

As the Fijian Elections Office advances, its proactive initiatives, including collaborative efforts with other agencies and ongoing technological improvements, present a hopeful perspective for Fiji’s democratic future. These developments are crucial for building public trust and enhancing the electoral framework in anticipation of forthcoming elections.
