Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller is expressing optimism for the franchise’s future, asserting that they have built a strong foundation in professional rugby. His confidence stems from a recent week-long induction in Fiji, where he closely observed the club’s operations following a challenging campaign in the 2025 Shop N Save Supermarket Super Rugby Pacific.

Miller, who has a rich history in Australian rugby as a former coach, chairman, and CEO of several teams including Rugby Australia and the Queensland Reds, noted the Drua’s dedication to excellence. He is particularly impressed by their infrastructure and operational standards, which he believes can contend with the top programs in the region.

In his reflections, Miller pointed to the franchise’s state-of-the-art training facilities and deep connections with the Fijian community as critical assets that set the Drua apart. Although last season’s results fell short of expectations, he remains hopeful that the insights gained will lead to improved performance in the upcoming season. He emphasized that the organization boasts robust systems, a clear identity, and strong nationwide support, which are essential for establishing a sustainable future for the franchise.

Looking ahead, the Drua have set their pre-season match schedule, facing the Chiefs in New Zealand on January 30, and then taking on the Skipper Select team on February 6 at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The team is set to launch their season at home against Moana Pasifika on February 14, marking a fresh start and renewed determination for both the franchise and its supporters. This optimism reflects a broader hope within the rugby community that the Drua will continue to grow and thrive on the international stage.
