Jeff Miller, the chief executive of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, is optimistic about the club’s future in the Shop N Save Supermarket Super Rugby Pacific this season. Drawing from his experience as a World Cup-winning player and coach, Miller believes that success in rugby transcends mere talent; it demands hard work, unity, and steadfast focus throughout the season.

Miller is encouraged by the Drua’s progressive embodiment of these essential qualities, both on and off the pitch. He emphasized the importance of dedication, stating, “You need hard work, sacrifice, real team commitment and a bit of luck along the way, and I’m seeing that focus and drive in our group right now.”

As the season unfolds, health will be pivotal, with injuries potentially jeopardizing a team’s path to the finals. Nevertheless, Miller remains confident, asserting that if the team’s key players stay fit and performances continue to elevate, the Drua could secure a home quarterfinal and pursue a deeper journey in the competition. “I’d like to think the Drua aren’t far from success in the competition,” he added.

The Drua are gearing up for their season opener against Moana Pasifika, set for next Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka, kicking off at 3:35 PM. Fans will be able to witness the action live on FBC Sports. In addition, the Drua will face the Skipper Select team in a pre-season clash this afternoon at 4 PM, also available for streaming on FBC Sports.

With the enthusiasm radiating from both Miller and the team, this season holds promise for the Drua, creating a solid foundation for potential accomplishments in their Super Rugby journey.
