Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel is calling for fans to come out in droves to support the national women’s football team, the Fiji Kula, as they begin their FIFA Women’s World Cup Oceania Qualifiers at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba, tomorrow.

In an effort to encourage attendance, all matches will be free to attend, which Patel emphasizes is a prime opportunity for supporters to rally behind the Kulas as they strive for a historic qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. He expressed that the initiative to provide free entry is designed to increase crowd numbers, particularly inviting families and loved ones of the players to show their support.

Patel highlighted the significance of this qualifying campaign, noting it marks the first tournament for the team under their new head coach. “This is a big moment for women’s football in Fiji, and we want the whole nation to be part of it,” he stated. The aim is to attract families, young girls, and football enthusiasts to come out and cheer for the team.

The Fiji Kula will kick off their campaign against New Caledonia on Friday at 4 PM, followed by matches against Papua New Guinea on March 2 and Vanuatu on March 5 at 4 PM. With the community’s support, this event not only serves as a platform for the players to showcase their talent but also unites the nation in celebration of women’s sports.
