The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has established a significant partnership valued at $4.5 million with E-Tech Engineering Pte Ltd to enhance and expand the Nasinu Cemetery. This initiative responds to growing public concerns over the dwindling space in the cemetery, ensuring adequate facilities for burial needs for the next seven years with the creation of approximately 17,000 new burial plots.
During the official signing at FCS Headquarters, Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Auta Moceisuva, met with E-Tech Engineering’s Director, Ashneel Singh, along with consultants from NRW Macallan Fiji Ltd. Moceisuva underscored the urgency of the project, stating that timely completion is essential, as the current burial space is projected to be exhausted within the current quarter.
Moceisuva expressed gratitude towards E-Tech for their perseverance in overcoming various documentation and procedural challenges to bring this project to fruition. In response, Singh assured that his team is actively on-site and fully committed to executing the project with the utmost diligence.
This collaborative effort represents a vital step forward in fulfilling public requirements and satisfying government expectations for enhanced cemetery infrastructure, contributing positively to the community’s needs.
