Fiji sprinter Braelynn Yee lands Griffith Asia Business Internship in Seoul

Fijian sprinter Braelynn Yee has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Griffith Asia Business Internship, an opportunity that recognizes her remarkable academic and athletic accomplishments. A former student of Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, Yee is also a recipient of the Oceania Athletics and Academic Scholarship and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business at Griffith University in Gold Coast.

This exciting internship, arranged in collaboration with Athletics Fiji, will take place over six weeks in Seoul, South Korea, from November 3 to December 12, 2025. During her time in Seoul, Yee will continue her studies at Griffith University, attaining full-time academic credit upon successful completion. To maintain her athletic performance during this period, she will follow a structured training plan developed by her coach.

Yee’s achievements align with the aims of the Oceania Athletics & Academics Scholarship, which supports young athletes in pursuing both their educational goals and sporting ambitions. This dual focus is increasingly significant in the modern sports landscape, as seen with fellow athlete Heleina Young, who also balances her athletic and academic aspirations.

Athletes like Yee and Young exemplify the new wave of Fijian talent, emphasizing the need for comprehensive development strategies that integrate education and athletics. As Fiji invests in its athletic capabilities, there is a growing sense of hope for the future of sports in the region. The successes of these young athletes not only bolster national pride but also inspire aspiring sportspeople across Fiji, hinting at a promising future filled with potential and opportunity.
