The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has reported the seizure of 250 flavored vape products during a coordinated raid at a company in Namaka, Nadi, yesterday morning. This operation involved collaboration among several agencies, including the Fiji Revenue & Customs Service, the Fiji Police Force, the Nadi Health Office, and the Tobacco Control & Enforcement Unit.
The raid was triggered by allegations that the company had been unlawfully importing and distributing vape products without the required licensing from the Ministry of Health. Officials have stated that this action represents a significant step in their ongoing efforts to tackle the illicit tobacco and vaping trade in Fiji.
This operation underscores not only the pressing public health concerns associated with unregulated vape products but also reflects the dedication of various governmental bodies to enforce existing regulations and safeguard community health. The Ministry’s proactive stance aims to ensure compliance with health standards and legal obligations, ultimately working towards a safer and healthier environment for all residents.
