The Cabinet has officially approved a grant aid arrangement with the Government of Japan, focusing on bolstering the operational capacity of Fiji’s Ministry of Public Works (MPW). This agreement will see Japan contributing around $12.6 million, designated for the purchase of critical heavy machinery needed for road construction and maintenance throughout Fiji.
The primary goal of this grant is to significantly enhance the MPW’s capabilities in delivering timely and effective roadworks across the nation.
