The Leader of the Opposition has called on Fijians to embrace hope, unity, and compassion as they celebrate Christmas this year. In his festive message, he emphasized the importance of the birth of Jesus Christ, which he described as a pivotal moment that symbolizes hope, love, and unity for all people.

“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are reminded that His coming into the world marked the beginning of hope, unity, and love for all humankind,” he remarked, urging Fijians to share their blessings with those around them. He highlighted the true spirit of Christmas, advocating for acts of kindness and generosity among neighbors, family, and friends.

The Opposition Leader also pointed out the significance of family and community gatherings during the holiday season. “Christmas is also a time for families and friends to come together, to sit, share, and rejoice in the uniquely Fijian spirit of love, laughter, and togetherness,” he observed, underscoring the importance of these connections.

In addition, he reminded the nation of the critical need to support those who are most vulnerable. “At the same time, we must remember those in our society who are less fortunate. The love of Christ calls on us to reach out to the vulnerable, the struggling, and the forgotten, ensuring that no one is left behind during this season of joy,” he urged.

Concluding his message, he wished Fijians a joyous and blessed festive season, stating, “On behalf of the Opposition, I wish all Fijians a blessed Christmas filled with peace, love, and renewed hope. May the light of Christ guide our nation as we look forward to the year ahead.” His message serves as a positive reminder of the importance of compassion and togetherness, fostering a spirit of generosity that can uplift the community during this special time of year.
