The Fiji Kula, the national women’s football team, is poised to enter the spotlight as they prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Oceania Qualifiers starting tomorrow at the 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba. The team has prioritized fitness and speed during their training in anticipation of the tournament.

Head coach Nicola Demaine, who joined the team in mid-January, has praised the players’ dedication to their physical conditioning, especially considering her recent arrival. She remarked, “We’ve seen noticeable progress, particularly in our intensity and recovery. That’s going to be important in a tournament setting where turnaround time between matches is short.”

The Kula will begin their qualifiers with a match against New Caledonia at 4 PM tomorrow. This will be followed by a game against Papua New Guinea on March 2, and they will conclude their pool matches on March 5 against Vanuatu, also at 4 PM.

The team’s commitment to their training and improvement has created an optimistic atmosphere as they embark on this vital journey. Fans and supporters are hopeful that the hard work and dedication shown in preparation will translate into strong performances on the field during the tournament. With their eyes set on succeeding, the Fiji Kula aims to make a mark in the qualifiers and pave the way for future competitions.
