The Ministry for Women, Children and Social Protection has issued a strong condemnation of the violence depicted in a video that has recently surfaced on social media, resulting in the arrest of an individual by the Labasa Police.

Acting Minister for Women, Jese Saukuru, emphasized that any form of violence is intolerable and will not be overlooked. He noted that such acts inflict significant physical and emotional harm on victims, with lasting repercussions on families, communities, and especially children.

Minister Saukuru praised the Fiji Police Force, highlighting the efficient response from Labasa Police in addressing this incident. He stated that their quick action reflects a shared dedication to maintaining law and order, assuring that those who commit acts of violence will face consequences.

Furthermore, he encouraged the community to promote patience, understanding, and kindness among family members, neighbors, and their wider communities. This message aims to foster a supportive environment as Fiji continues to combat violence and its impacts on society.
