According to Chan, a concerning trend is emerging: more iTaukei patients are seeking assistance, often diagnosed later in their conditions and facing considerable financial challenges during treatment. “It just breaks my heart because they should be the healthiest, able to access, but they’re not doing much about that bit,” Chan said, reflecting on the barriers these patients encounter.
