A heavy rain alert has been issued for the entire Fiji group, prompting residents to remain vigilant as the region endures persistent unsettled weather conditions. The Fiji Meteorological Service reports that a shallow low-pressure system is gradually moving near Kadavu and is anticipated to shift towards the southern parts of the country in the coming days.

This weather phenomenon is linked to a trough of low pressure impacting Fiji’s weather, leading to widespread cloudiness and rainfall across the area. Additionally, Tropical Depression TD03F, located to the far northwest of Fiji near Vanuatu, is exacerbating the unstable weather conditions.

Residents should prepare for occasional downpours, which could be heavy at times, along with the possibility of thunderstorms in various regions. The continuing heavy rainfall poses a risk of flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.

Looking forward to Tuesday, meteorologists predict that the pattern of sporadic heavy rain and thunderstorms will persist throughout most areas, with a heightened risk of flash flooding due to the ongoing rains. The community is urged to take necessary precautions and remain informed by closely monitoring weather updates as this situation unfolds.
