Boxing fans in Fiji have a thrilling season to look forward to as the Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) reviews an exciting roster of events for the upcoming 2026 professional boxing calendar. BCF Chairman Adi Narayan shared that various promoters have submitted exciting proposals, signaling a bright future for the sport in the area.

The action will begin on March 28 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, where Zeg Boxing Promotions will hold its inaugural event. Promoter Alfaaz Mallam is enthusiastic about this venture, having secured the necessary approvals to deliver exciting matches for local supporters.

Blue Waters Promotions is also set to make a significant impact with two notable events in 2026. The first event is locked in for April 25 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, and it aims to establish a new benchmark for professional boxing in Fiji. Mohammed Sameer Khan from Blue Waters is currently in New Zealand negotiating with fighters, ensuring that the event will feature participants from New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, India, and Fiji. Narayan highlighted the event’s international appeal, stating, “This means five countries will be represented in the program, which is very encouraging and exciting for patrons.”

In addition, Alan Kumar’s Bula Sports Events is planning to host two other events during the year, one in April and another in October, which will be confirmed once venue information is finalized.

Narayan expressed strong optimism regarding the upcoming events and their potential to meet BCF standards, indicating that it will be a thrilling year for professional boxing in Fiji. This growing interest not only seeks to elevate the local sports scene but also fosters community spirit and unity among fans and athletes, providing a hopeful path for the sport’s future in the region.
