The National Export Strategy Committee has announced the allocation of $300,000 to support two export-oriented projects during its inaugural meeting for the 2025/2026 financial year. The focus of this meeting was on assessing the performance of the committee throughout the 2024/2025 period and reviewing three grant proposals that had been shortlisted for funding.
Expert members from various sectors within the export industry diligently evaluated each application to ensure alignment with the objectives of the National Export Strategy Program. This program is dedicated to promoting high-impact initiatives that contribute to sustainable economic growth, enhance competitiveness, facilitate value addition, and encourage diversification in Fiji’s economy.
Following extensive discussions, the committee approved funding for the two selected projects, signaling a commitment to ongoing support for export initiatives. The grant program remains open, inviting eligible businesses to submit applications. This initiative is particularly aimed at aspiring exporters with at least two years in the domestic market, as well as existing exporters seeking to broaden their market presence.
This funding is part of a larger effort to boost Fiji’s export capabilities and create new opportunities for local businesses. By fostering growth in the export sector, the committee aims to enrich Fiji’s economic landscape and broaden access to both regional and international markets. The focus on empowering small and medium enterprises aligns with the national vision of achieving sustainable economic development and increasing Fiji’s global competitiveness.
