Fifteen police officers have recently returned from their assignments in various United Nations peacekeeping missions, marking a significant moment for their local community. Among them, thirteen officers served with the UN Mission in South Sudan, while one participated in the Multinational Force and Observers, and another with the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei.
SSP Ulaiasi Ravula, the Director of International Relations, extended a warm welcome to the returning officers on behalf of Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu. He commended the officers for their unwavering dedication and professionalism demonstrated during their missions.
Currently, these officers are engaging in a Post Deployment Reintegration Program, which aims to support their transition back to civilian life. This program is expected to conclude on January 22nd, providing them with the necessary resources and assistance to reintegrate successfully into their communities.
The return of these officers not only highlights their commitment to global peace and security but also underscores the important role that local law enforcement plays in international cooperation efforts. The ongoing support for officers through reintegration programs is essential in ensuring that their experiences abroad positively contribute to their roles in local policing.
