BIG RAPIDS — Ferris State University proudly announced that football players Tim Anderson and Justin Payoute have been honored with selections to the 2025 Walter Camp Division II All-America First Team, following their significant contributions to the team’s triumph in the NCAA Division II National Championship.

The Bulldogs clinched their fourth national title in five years with a commanding 42-21 victory over Harding on December 20 in McKinney, Texas, underlining their supremacy in Division II football. Both Anderson, a Construction Management major hailing from Rochester, Mich., and Payoute, a Criminal Justice major from Miami Gardens, Fla., have also received recognition as 2025 First Team All-Americans from the American Football Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

Anderson was distinguished as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Lineman of the Year and was further celebrated as the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year, highlighting his status as the nation’s premier lineman. Meanwhile, Payoute earned accolades as the GLIAC Defensive Back of the Year. Both athletes were pivotal in earning All-GLIAC First Team selections, a testament to their remarkable performances throughout the season.

The Camp Football Foundation, established in 1967, is recognized for selecting the oldest college football All-America teams in the United States. This year marks a significant milestone, as it is only the second time in history that a Division II All-America team has been established. Walter Camp, often referred to as the “Father of American Football,” played a crucial role in shaping the game, including the development of plays from scrimmage.

The achievements of Anderson and Payoute not only demonstrate their individual talents but also reflect the strength and determination of the Ferris State Bulldogs as they continue to make their mark in collegiate football.
