Bleecker Street and Legion M are set to host advance screenings of the comedic film “Fackham Hall” next week, encouraging attendees to don their finest 1930s British attire. This upcoming film is a parody reminiscent of “The Naked Gun,” taking a humorous spin on British period dramas such as “Downton Abbey.”
“Fackham Hall” follows the story of Eric, played by Ben Radcliffe, a clever pickpocket who infiltrates the lives of the aristocratic Davenport family. The narrative thickens as Eric sparks a forbidden romance with Rose, portrayed by Thomasin McKenzie, only for the plot to twist when a murder occurs at Fackham Hall, leading to Eric being wrongfully accused and the fate of the Davenports hanging in the balance. The cast also features notable names such as Katherine Waterston, Emma Laird, Damian Lewis, and Tom Felton.
Attendees at the special screenings will enjoy an introduction by comedian and co-writer Jimmy Carr. Additionally, there will be appearances from film producer Luke Parker Bowles, cousin to Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles, with his first appearance set for The Playhouse in New Canaan, Connecticut. Parker Bowles shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I think this amazingly accurate documentary is a delightful tribute to all the best England has to offer. The audience I saw it with laughed nonstop, and I can’t wait to hear U.S. audiences roaring just as loudly.”
Beyond the advance screenings, “Fackham Hall” will be shown nationwide on December 3, ahead of its official release on December 5. Fans can secure tickets through Bleecker Street’s website.
With its blend of humor and classic British storytelling, “Fackham Hall” is poised to add a delightful twist to the holiday movie season, inviting audiences into a world of laughter and intrigue.
