The Nation’s Weather for Friday, October 3, 2025, indicates a continuation of dry conditions affecting areas from the Plains through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This persistent dry weather is likely to exacerbate drought conditions, particularly from the Mississippi Valley stretching up to New England.

In contrast, the East Coast is projected to experience temperatures that are near to slightly below historical averages. Meanwhile, regions from the Rockies to the Ohio Valley will see a significant warm-up, with temperatures expected to range from 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit above average, ushering in summer-like weather.

In Florida, an influx of tropical moisture will result in scattered showers and thunderstorms, bringing much-needed precipitation to the area. However, the West Coast will experience a mixed bag of weather, as a storm system will lead to showers and possible thunderstorms in Nevada, Idaho, southeastern Oregon, and Montana. Higher elevations may even see some snowfall. After the storm passes, a cool air mass is forecasted to settle over the West Coast.

On Thursday, Gila Bend, Arizona recorded the highest temperature in the nation at 97 degrees, while Angel Fire, New Mexico marked the lowest temperature at 22 degrees.

As the nation navigates these varied weather patterns, the cooler air creeping into the West Coast may provide a refreshing change, especially for those impacted by the ongoing dry conditions elsewhere.
