The Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC) has announced its full readiness for the New Year’s Eve 2026 celebrations, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to security, organization, and service. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Dubai Civil Defence headquarters, where key officials outlined plans for this globally anticipated event, ensuring it aligns with Dubai’s esteemed reputation for hosting world-class celebrations.
This year, the festivities will include an impressive 48 fireworks shows across 40 locations, featuring iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Global Village, Atlantis The Royal, and more. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Event Security Committee, confirmed that 55 government, semi-government, and private entities are collaborating under a unified security framework. The emirate is divided into four operational sectors to facilitate coordination and enhance service delivery.
To further bolster public safety, 37 assistance tents will be available at celebration sites, offering various services including police support, first aid, and help for lost children. Major General Al Mazrouei urged attendees to comply with safety guidelines and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a smooth and enjoyable evening. Emergency services can be reached via 999, and non-emergency requests through 901.
In a commendable initiative, dedicated viewing areas have been established for workers, complete with large screens and complimentary meals, allowing them to partake in the celebrations.
Dubai Police are deploying nearly 10,000 officers along with a fleet of vehicles, marine units, and patrols to secure the festivities. Major General Al Mazrouei highlighted the collaboration among various teams, underscoring a commitment to providing exemplary safety and security.
The Dubai Civil Defence has also finalized preparations, positioning over 1,700 firefighters and multiple specialized vehicles to respond effectively to any emergencies. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has prepared a traffic management strategy that encompasses enhanced public transport and the deployment of over 5,500 staff to manage transport flow, particularly around Burj Khalifa. Road closures will begin in the afternoon to streamline traffic, and public transport services will be extended, operating continuously for nearly two days.
Dubai Ambulance Services will activate 236 ambulance points across the emirate, ready to provide emergency care in alignment with international standards. Public health services will also remain available, with measures in place for those with chronic conditions.
