Disney’s live-action adaptation of the beloved animated classic “Tangled” is moving forward with Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim set to portray the iconic roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively. Croft, known for her performances in “Titans” and “True Spirit,” brings her talent as she steps into the shoes of the magically long-haired princess. Manheim, who gained fame through the “Zombies” franchise and recently showcased his skills on “Dancing with the Stars,” will play the charming outlaw.

Originally released in 2010, the animated “Tangled” tells the enchanting story of Rapunzel, who, confined in a tower, finds her freedom through a daring escape led by Flynn Rider. The film was a massive success, earning over $591 million globally and paving the way for a short film and an animated series.

Directing the live-action version is Michael Gracey, known for “The Greatest Showman,” while Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, recognized for her work on “Do Revenge” and “Thor: Love and Thunder,” is crafting the screenplay. Kristin Burr, whose production credits include “Cruella,” is on board as a producer, alongside executive producer Lucy Kitada. As of now, production details and a release date remain under wraps.

Teagan Croft has made waves with her portrayal of Rachel Roth, also known as Raven, in the DC series “Titans,” and her role in “True Spirit,” where she depicted young sailor Jessica Watson, further establishes her prowess as an actress. Meanwhile, Milo Manheim, the son of Emmy and Golden Globe winner Camryn Manheim, is already a familiar face among Disney fans and has proven his versatility through his performances.

The live-action “Tangled” marks yet another addition to Disney’s trend of reimagining animated classics, following the likes of “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Aladdin.” Disney’s ongoing commitment to revitalize these beloved stories for new audiences continues, exciting fans eager to see how this cherished tale will unfold in a new format. Additionally, the upcoming release of the live-action “Moana,” featuring Dwayne Johnson, adds to the anticipation of future adaptations from the Disney vault.
