Demi Moore showed her unwavering support for her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, during a recent benefit event held for frontotemporal degeneration in New York City. The actress, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, attended the Soho Sessions fundraising event on November 6, wearing a stylish black pea coat, leather turtleneck, and trousers.

The gala was organized to raise funds for the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration while honoring the 70-year-old actor, who is facing the challenges of this cognitive condition. The star-studded event featured performances by notable artists such as Keith Richards, Norah Jones, Mavis Staples, and Warren Haynes, highlighting the collective effort to raise awareness for the cause.

Moore was among a host of celebrity attendees, which included Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Michael J. Fox, Tracy Pollan, and Whoopi Goldberg. In a heartfelt moment, Emma Heming Willis, Bruce’s current wife, thanked the crowd for their continued support. “This is incredible, and I love what you guys are doing here at the Soho [Sessions] to raise awareness for frontotemporal dementia,” she stated, expressing gratitude for the community’s efforts.

Bruce Willis’s journey has been a challenging one; his family disclosed in March 2022 that he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that significantly impacts communication. Subsequently, in early 2023, it was revealed that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, affecting his behavior and language abilities.

In August, Heming Willis shared the tough decision to have Bruce live in a separate residence where he could receive proper full-time care, a choice she made with their daughters in mind. Despite facing backlash for this decision, she firmly maintained that Bruce’s needs were being prioritized. “Now I know that Bruce has the best care 100 percent of the time,” she affirmed.

Demi Moore has remained supportive throughout this difficult period, recognizing the immense pressure placed on Heming Willis, who plays a crucial role in Bruce’s care. “Being the ex-wife, even though our family is very connected, is an interesting position,” Moore noted in a podcast. She emphasized the necessity for caregivers to ensure their own well-being in order to better support their loved ones.

Moore’s compassionate stance and participation in such events demonstrate a spirit of unity and hope, as the community rallies together to shed light on the challenges associated with frontotemporal degeneration and the importance of support for those affected. The ongoing care and love from both Moore and Heming Willis highlight the importance of family bonds and shared responsibility in navigating this difficult journey.
