Cooperatives in Tikina Vanuaso, Gau are making significant strides towards building stronger and more sustainable businesses following a comprehensive three-day Cooperative Management Training held in Vanuaso Village. The newly established Miramira ni Savuralele Cooperative from Lekanai Village expressed that the training has clarified the roles and responsibilities of its members while emphasizing the necessity of maintaining proper bylaws and holding regular meetings. This initiative has culminated in the formation of three new cooperatives in Tikina Vanuaso, highlighting a revitalized confidence in community-focused enterprises that promote local economic growth.

Additionally, the Vanuaso Women’s Cooperative has shared that the training has ignited aspirations for more expansive plans. Currently operating a modest retail shop, the cooperative is considering expanding into wholesale trading. Members believe that with consistent boat services to Gau, this goal is not just a dream, but a tangible achievement within their reach.
