Chromebooks Get One-Year GeForce Now Fast Pass for Ad-Free Cloud Gaming

Nvidia and Google have joined forces to introduce a new cloud gaming service tailored specifically for Chromebook users. The GeForce Now Fast Pass initiative allows gamers to seamlessly stream more than 2,000 titles from their existing PC game libraries, providing an ad-free experience. Notably, buyers of new Chromebooks will receive a complimentary one-year membership to this service.

Fast Pass is designed to enhance the gaming experience compared to the existing free version of GeForce Now. While the free plan allows access to various games from platforms such as Steam, Epic, or Xbox, users typically face wait times of up to two minutes to begin gameplay. In contrast, Fast Pass promises an expedited experience, letting players bypass these queues.

However, users should note that the Fast Pass comes with some limitations. Subscribers will have a cap of 10 hours of cloud gaming each month, although they can carry over unused hours—up to five—into the following month. For those desiring more features and flexibility, Nvidia offers other subscription tiers starting at $9.99 a month. These paid plans include benefits like increased resolution, faster frame rates, and access to a larger library of games that require installation on Nvidia’s servers.

Google has confirmed that every new Chromebook purchase now comes with a year of GeForce Now Fast Pass, although the companies have yet to reveal pricing details for the service outside of this promotional offer. This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing gaming accessibility on Chromebooks, potentially attracting more users to the platform while enriching their gaming experiences.
